Howdy, my lovely dorks and dweebs. Yesterday was a right palette cleanser of a post, if a bit of a spooky time. Reader beware, though—it may not be Halloween, but the scares continue for another day! If 2Spooky sent a shiver down your spine, watch out...here be more ghosts. For a game about poop and dead babies, ghosts make perfect sense. But, beyond Lil Haunt (and Ghost Baby, granted), item representation has historically been rather limited for our spectral friends.

Not so in Repentance. For the paranormally-inclined, we've got Quints, Hungry Soul, Spirit Shackles, and, of course, the item of the hour. Yes, one of the very few items in both the Angel and Devil pools (in fact, perhaps the only one? ok yes you are right commenters void 7 seals lil delirium duality i am bad at game), this bad boy summons the souls of the not-yet-damned to fight by your side. You know it, you love it—heck, it's my favorite item! Let's talk Purgatory 🕶

Item Effect

• Spawns a red crack in the ground somewhere in the room while Isaac is in a room with enemies, which, when stepped on, spawns a homing, exploding ghost when stepped on

• The explosion deals 2x Isaac's damage per tick (up to 4 ticks), and does not affect Isaac or obstacles (though does affect enemy tears)

• Cracks continue showing up until the room is cleared, though only one is active at a time
