I feel like the main character in a sci-fi movie waking up from cryosleep after 100 years or something, because damn it, daily discussions are back! I know, I know, please try and contain your excitement. Still feels a little bit surreal to me that Repentance is finally here—and, of course, that Repentance is as great as it is. Knowing the Antibirth team, I never had any doubt, but damn. 8 new floors? 30 new bosses? 19 new characters?! I don't know what any of us did to deserve this freaking masterpiece, but I do pray to the photo of Kilburn on my wall everyday to do my part.

The mod team put our brilliant heads together, and after ~~2 messages~~ much intense deliberation, we figured what better item to kick things off than one of Repentance's most iconic? Red Key was one of the first items I remember coming across in Antibirth, and it's just as rad 4 years later. The dopamine rush from stumbling into a Super Secret Room is unparalleled, and even though I know 80% of the time I'm just going to find a room with 8 spiders, there's something so satisfying about blowing the map up to gargantuan proportions. You take the Red Key, you stay in Basement 2, and Kil shows you how deep this run really goes...

For the time being (aka the next few months at least), these discussions (along with their counterparts for Trinkets, Character, Floor, Pickup, Boss, Enemy, why does Isaac have some much content) are going to be daily occurrences, so get your fingers ready to wax poetic about very cool pixels.

Item Effect

• While held, a red outline of a door will appear on certain walls. Using the Red Key near it will spawn a red room

• This room will randomly choose from many types, including (but not limited to) any regular room from that floor, treasure rooms, curse rooms, devil rooms, angel rooms, I AM ERROR rooms and more

• In rooms with multiple door outlines, the closest one will be opened

• Attempting to create a room outside the maximum boundary (13 x 13 rooms) of the map will take you to an I AM ERROR room. You can't use the Red Key to leave this room

• The Red Key can be used to open the secret room in the Home floor, which is the method for unlocking alternative 'Tainted' characters

Pool: Secret Room, Red Chest, Curse Room, Key Beggar, Mom's Chest

Unlock: Open Mom's Box in the Home floor for the first time
