Why hello, dorks and dweebs, and a merry Friday to you all. Whether this weekend is a long one (and a happy 4th to all you Americans) or a normal one, I hope it proves to be a pleasant one all the same. But, heck, we've still got one more day of the week—and what better way to celebrate Friday than getting down into the unknown depths below for Floor Discussion #7! Plus, the Four Souls kickstarter just wrapped up, so I figured some ~~dust~~ confetti was in order.

The penultimate of Repentance's new floors, today we're getting our hands dirty with Ashpit. I can't claim to have much love in my heart for the Mines alt, but at least we've got some nifty Dry Bones enemies. And, like, ghosts! No goblins as of yet, but I'm holding out hope. It's here, it's not very clear (because there's an overlay), it's Ashpit 🕶

Ashpit

• Ashpit is one of eight new floors added in Repentance, and is the alternate floor for Mines

• Ashpit is, well, ash-themed, featuring skeletons, flames, ghosts, and a dusty overlay, along with various Mines elements (throwable bombs, minecarts, dark rooms)

Ashpit's theme is centred around mainly skeletons, flames, dust and ghosts, and contains a blowing dust overlay. is a sewer-themed floor, featuring noxious gas and poop-centric enemies, as well as alternate versions of Downpour enemies

• Ashpit (like Mines) can be accessed after Caves 1, Caves 2, and Downpour 2 via a boarded door after the boss fight, which can be opened using a 2 bombs

• All treasure rooms have at least 2 items to choose from, with 1 always being a Blind item

• Ashpit 2, like Mines 2, will always contain a room with a minecart on a broken track leading to a boarded door as well as yellow buttons strewn around the floor. Touching these will repair the track, and riding the Minecart (or entering the door using bombs) transports Isaac to an escape sequence with Knife Piece 2

• The bosses of Ashpit are Singe, The Shell, Great Gideon, and The Pile
