Beth, I hear you calling, but I can't come home right now—me and the boys are gaming, baby! Hello, my wonderful dorks and dweebs. I may have been shirking my mod-ly duties the last couples days with (gasp) Item Discussions on a weekend because I was just so frickin tired from traveling. Well, I shirk no longer—Sunday is for Character Discussions (at least, until we run out in a few weeks), and Characters we shall Discuss.

I put poor Beth on a back-burner for months on account of the fact that, well, I decided to throw Book of Virtues up as the second Item Discussion like an idiot. I didn't think she was interesting enough otherwise to merit another discussion so soon, but absence does make the heart grow fonder so...it's Bethany's time to shine!

[Bethany]

Health: 3 Red Hearts

Damage: 3.5 * 1.0

Tears: 0

Shot Speed: 1

Range: 6.5

Speed: 1.0

Luck: 0

Pickups: 4 Soul Charges

Items: Book of Virtues

Unlock: Defeat Mom's Heart (or It Lives) on Hard Mode as Lazarus without dying

Character Attributes: The Repentance character everybody was talking about before Kil and the gang knocked our socks right off with Tainteds, Beth is a hoot and a half. Bethany is the only (?) character in the game locked exclusively to Red Hearts for health. Soul Hearts serve as extra item charges instead of sweet, sweet health, supplementing missing charges from Beth's current active when picked up. This would be pretty mediocre if Beth didn't come bundled with one of the niftiest items in the game: Book of Virtues! This active-affecting passive item (in hallowed company with the likes of Schoolbag) jacks Angel Deal chances way up, and makes every active item spawn a unique wisp on use, the effects of which are...varied. If no active is currently being held, Book of Virtues becomes an active item with a 4 Room Charge. It's Bethany!
