I'm worried these dorks think I can't change. I was a total jerk—used to be! I've changed now, though. Heck, I don't even eat non-sloppy steaks these days. Sorry, half my inner monologue right now is I Think You Should Leave sketches, and the other half is asleep. Slowly but surely this week creeps toward a conclusion, and I am very much here for it. In the mean time, though, somebody's got to get Item Discussion #75 onto the screens of the masses. And, of course, that somebody is yours truly. Let's talk Redemption!

Redemption

Deliver me from evil

• After Isaac has taken a Devil Deal, Confessional or Sacrifice Room will spawn Redemption in place of an Angel Room item. This is the only way the item can be naturally encountered outside of Death Certificate or Spindown Dice

• Upon entering a Devil Room, a white inverted cross will appear above Isaac's head, and taking anything generated by the room (items or consumables) will result in the icon going away. This icon also disappears when opening Red Chests, unless they spawn an item, or are spawned after room generation (as a room clear reward or enemy drop)

• Taking Lump of Coal or Head of Krampus will also not remove the inverted cross

• Entering the next floor with the inverted cross active will grant +1 Damage and a Soul Heart
