    Curse of Tower + Pyromaniac

    Just had an intensely satisfying run where I got Curse of Tower into Pyro. At first, I got the Curse and watching the bombs spawn after every damage I took made me think the run was over.

    By the time I got to Caves 1 however, I beat the boss and got the Pyromaniac. Not knowing what it did, I kept playing until I accidentally took damage then got hit by one of Curse's bombs. My health gone up, not down!

    Proceeded to spend the rest of the run intentionally bumping enemies, spawning bombs, and using the bombs to heal. It was an insane combination.

    How many deaths in until you beat mother the first time? Do I need to memorize the items or if I just pick everything up and eventually get a cool over powered run?

    I'm only about 30 deaths in but researching every item every pickup gets annoying. Just curious if I should just pick everything up and eventually everything will come together. This is my first rogue game like this so it's all new.
