After 4 years I finally decided to play the game and got addicted... Started 2021 defeating the lamb and then doing a victory lap ,(which doesn't count towards a win I'm assuming?), where I defeated mega satan. This year is already great

In anticipation for the upcoming Repentance trailer, we've decided to put out a new temporary spoiler rule regarding Repentance content:

Posts and comments containing Repentance spoilers must be spoiler-marked

Repentance spoilers must be marked using the spoiler feature for those who wish to stay in the dark about Repentance content.

DO NOT PUT SPOILER INFO IN THE TITLE OF A POST. POSTS WITH SPOILER TITLES WILL BE REMOVED.

You may ask yourself "Why are you implementing this feature already when Repentance doesn't even have a release date yet? Excellent question, hypothetical reader!

Normally we'd just add this type of rule when Repentance is about to come out, but Edmund posted a tweet stating that there will be "huge surprises that no one will expect" that will be spoiled closer to release (Link). We don't quite know what this means yet, but just to be on the safe side, we're implementing this rule a little early to protect those that wish to stay in the dark about the expansion.

You may also ask "Well that's all fine and dandy, but how long will this rule last?"

Well aren't you just full of questions today, fictitious sub member? The answer is: We don't know. The plan is to play Repentance spoilers by ear until a good amount of the community has had a chance to run through the content, and then we'll start slowly lifting the restrictions. We don't want to absolutely stifle the memes and discussion in the sub by gating everything behind a spoiler tag, but we still want to preserve the first-time experience for the community (and ourselves!).

Early-game bosses and enemies are obviously not as big of a deal to spoil as something like a secret character or boss, but we still ask you to put in a spoiler marking if you think there's a chance your post might lessen some other player's first time experiencing it. The "spoiler title" part of the rule is because post titles can't be edited to be non-spoilery.

We'll (hopefully) be around to catch posts and mark them if they haven't been marked already but some may fall through the cracks (because we'll be busy with it too), so please be aware when browsing the sub when we get to Repentance's release. If you have any feedback or questions regarding this rule, feel free to let us know!

Repentance Banner Competition and Giveaway

Hi everyone,

In celebration of Repentances release, we will be changing the banner of the sub to a repentance theme rather that the Afterbirth+ theme we have now. However, instead of just changing it to an updated banner ourselves, we have decided on opening it up as a competition. Also be sure to check the new spoiler rule found here

The winner will receive either:

A copy of Repentance, or any previous DLC if unowned, must be on steam due to consoles getting the DLC later.

A copy of Repentance, given to another player if you do not need / want it yourself,

or something else which can be discussed when you win.

Rules

Must have the main focus of the banner be the heading "Binding of Isaac: Repentance" or something close which includes a reference to the subreddit in some way (like the current banner)
Must not feature any current memes/topics, this banner will likely stay for a while so we do not want it to look aged or old.
The banner must fit reddit's banner dimensions, see this for more info, if you don't already know it. If you know reddit banner dimensions yourself, please feel free to use whatever size you think it best, and include the dimensions in the comments of the post
The banner can contain a personal social media watermark, but it must be small and in the corner of the banner, watermarks to business links are not allowed.
Your post must use the new "Banner Competition" flair to make it easy to find.
If your post contains any spoilers for Repentance, please spoiler mark it, we will then discuss the content as mods and unspoiler it if necessary
No NSFW content allowed
Other than that, anything goes, have fun!

How Everyone Can Help

This competition will be judged by both the mods, and by you. The best way to show you like a banner will be to upvote it, we will then take the top 3 most upvoted banners, and judge them ourselves to find the one we like best. Please do not repost popular banners to show your support, these will be removed so the upvotes do not get split between posts.

End Date

The competition will end 2 weeks before the release of Repentance, which is being announced in 11 hours, this post will be updated when we know the release. We will then take the top 3 banners and choose the winner, which will be announced a few days before Repentances release. You will then receive the prize and the banner will be updated when Repentance releases.

I'm just wondering what are your guys thought on the subject? I personally feel like we might get one last mod pack to small content add-on but I don't see yet another major dlc. I'm really excited to see what new can come after Isaac.
