    Welcome to the Repentance ARG megapost! Post any theories, ideas and clues you have towards a possible Repentance ARG here.

    For those who don't know, ARG stands for Alternate Reality Game, an interactive event where "players" are tasked with decoding puzzles and following clues to get to a goal set by the creator. If you'd like to see an example, Edmund ran one back at Afterbirth's release that culminated in updating the game to include The Keeper.

    Below is a summary of some of the different clues/leads that have been gathered so far.

    Blog Post images

    With every blog post that Edmund himself has written (minus the announcement post for the expansion being added to steam on 9/28), (seemingly) random letters contain links to images. They will be listed with the letter they were attached to below.

    11/28/20

    Notes: All of the links are images in this post point to images of Edmund himself. Uncertain if this means anything.

    Notes: "s" link is now broken, previously linked to a pink circle 3/4ths full, pictured in this post. 34 is an incredibly relevant number, as explained below. 3D Edmund image appears to have some faint image in the background? EDIT: Background image appears to be from Edmund's lesser-known game Cunt.

    The number 34 has been teased multiple times from the team in regards to Repentance. Possibly one of the most important teases came from the release date trailer itself. At 0:34, "Who am I?" is scrawled on the wall with tally marks totaling 34, with 15 on one line and 19 on the second. On multiple occasions Edmund and Alex Hicks (the creator of the trailer) indicated that there are secrets hidden inside the trailer that aren't obvious at a glance.

    From the trailer blog post:

    that amazing trailer was done by Alex Hicks and is packed to the brim with nods to the past, present and future... it just all depends on how wide your eyes are when watching and if you have an IQ over like 340.

    From the blog post the next week:

    a few days ago we decided we NEEDED to add 34 more unlockable items... dont worry though we are still on for the 31st.

    Another interesting note is that the 34th time Abraham's name is mentioned in the bible, it is when he names his son Isaac.

    There have also been other various tweets and comments that have led to the number that I've certainly missed.

    So far that's all the leads I currently have compiled. I'm planning on updating this post as more info comes out/is discovered to help the community through the ARG. Feel free to leave any ideas you may have in the comments, because there's a chance it could help crack this thing open!

    ... Well, for one, I finally unlocked The Forgotten. (Wouldn't that have been disappointing, if after that title, it turned out I was still struggle-bussing.)

    But I've also noticed something. Probably been touched on before, but I didn't see it in the wiki. When Mom shouts "Isaac!" it doesn't sound like when you fight her. She actually sounds worried, like he was making so much noise in the box that she ran upstairs to check on him. So, I think dying to Mom's Foot via Broken Shovel is sort of like dying to Hush, in that by dying in the game, Isaac might actually survive.
