Follow the light...the light is your guide. Hello, my lovely dorks and dweebs! Hope everybody is having a wonderful día, and welcome back to Item Discussion #27. I feel like I've been running around with my head cut off today—work, life, and generally being a cool dude. So, in the spirit of running around, it's Star of Bethlehem.

An ardent subscriber to my least favorite Isaac Design Rule (give items identical-looking sprites for a laugh, come on, it'll be ~ hilarious ~), this pulsating pacifier is a hoot and a half. It's one of the many zany new additions to the Angel Room pool, a rad Beth unlock, and heck, it lets you feel like a star for once. What more could you want out of an item? Put your hands together—it's Star of Bethlehem!

Item Effect

• On pickup, spawns a star familiar which slowly travels towards the middle of the boss room for the floor, fading through doors on its route, and stopping in the middle of the room once it arrives

• The Star is able to travel through (and potentially reveal) Secret and Curse Rooms en route to the boss

• The Star emits an aura which grants Isaac +1 Damage, 1.2x Damage Multiplier, 0.4x Tear Delay, and homing tears, along with a chance to block damage a la Infamy

• The Star will travel to Delirium directly on The Void, and to Isaac's spawn position during Greed Mode (and the boss fight during Ultra Greed). By contrast, it will aid will not aid with Ascent floors, Hush, Beast, Mega Satan, or Mother
