Boss Discussion

Y'all, it has been a hot dang minute since we had a Boss Discussion. Fitting, because it's a hot dang day in the real world where I'm at. Rhode Island, I am new to your land, why must you curse me with this heat? I've heard about brutal New England winters, but why oh why did nobody brief me on these summers? Sheesh. Alas, 'tis my burden to bear, and (as long as I have not melted into a small puddle in my dorm room), the show must go on. We've got a very rad boss up on the chopping block today, so sing her praises—and, y'know, try and avoid her song while you're at it. It's The Siren!

[The Siren]

Behaviors

• The Siren, like the beasts of myth, is all about charm—specifically, charming Isaac's familiars to work for her! Charmed familiars have 60 HP, and return to Isaac when killed

• If Isaac has any familiars, The Siren can sing, charming up to 3 at a time to assist her; if she has less than 3 charmed shooting Familiars from Isaac, she summons up to 3 Siren Minions of her own (behaving identically to Brother Bobby)

• After spawning familiars, The Siren glides around the room, allowing her familiars to attack—if she has any familiars alive afterwards, she swipes at Isaac, launching all familiars in his direction. After colliding with a wall, all familiars are released, and a burst of radial projectiles and a cluster of disorganized projectiles (dependent on the number of familiars)

• In addition to familiar-charming attacks, The Siren can perform a variety of direct attacks, listed below:

• Swipes at Isaac, releasing 5 projectiles

• Sinks into the floor becoming invulnerable and chases Isaac, leaving a trail of slowing Black Creep. After reappearing, she swipes at Isaac, shooting a spread of 5 projectiles

• Screams, emitting a consistent shockwave around her which pushes Isaac away and spawns 9 pulsating rings of projectiles that expand slowly outwards. These rings have openings towards Isaac's general direction, which slowly disappear as they travel further away, after which point projectiles split in two

• Upon death, The Siren burns away, leaving behind her skull; bombing this for the first time unlocks Forgotten Lullaby (subsequent bombs treat her skull as a regular skull rock)
