Damn, that was a freaking text wall to type out. I usually end up typing the intro after the post body so I can gauge how much mental stamina I have left. And dang, I did not realize how many patterns Mausoleum Mom's Heart had? I feel like regular Mom's Heart is nowhere near as intricate, but maybe it's just because both of them get utterly shredded most runs.

Either way, the cat is out of the bag. Boss Discussion #16, and we're diving into our final "main progression" bosses. Plus, it's a double whammy to boot! Mausoleum Mom & Mausoleum Mom's Heart...let's get into it 🕶

[Mausoleum Mom]

HP: 645

• Mausoleum Mom is a stronger version of Mom encountered on Mausoleum/Gehenna II in an arena with 4 (sealed) doors. She is generally more aggressive than regular Mom, deals a whole heart of contact damage, and has a variety of attacks, listed below:

• Mausoleum Mom always begins the fight by stomping once in the center of the room

• Mausoleum Mom can stick an eye out from one of the doors, and if Isaac is in line of sight, shoots 2 Brimstone beams in a helix pattern across the room

• Mausoleum Mom can stomp 3 times at Isaac's position in rapid succession, with the third stomp releasing a explosions along the cardinal directions. If an eye is currently attacking, only 1 stomp will be performed (with no explosions)

• Mausoleum Mom can stick a piece of flesh from a door, and spawn a monster (one of: Attack Fly, Cursed Globin, Fetal Demon, Ragling, Sucker, Psychic Horf)

• After being defeated, all enemies spawned by Mom die alongside her (except for Cursed Globins, which collapse into 2 piles of goo). Additionally, the door to Mausoleum Mom's Heart appears, which must be opened using Knife Piece 1 + 2

[Mausoleum Mom's Heart]

HP: 950

• Mausoleum Mom's Heart is always encountered in a womb-like room following Mausoleum Mom, and is accompanied by two Eyes. Mausoleum Mom's Heart has 4 phases, and the fight is very similar to regular Mom's Heart

• At the beginning of the fight, Mausoleum Mom's Heart retreats upwards, shooting 4 slow-moving lines of projectiles. After defeating the initial eyes, new ones are not spawned, and the heart is lowered (+ no longer retreats)

• Mom's Heart has 3 projectile patterns available at the start of the fight: 2 rings of 8 projectiles that expand outwards in different intervals that can overlap, 2 streams of projectiles which spiral outwards and gradually decrease in intensity, and 2 rings of 8 projectiles which alternate between rotating clockwise and counter-clockwise

• After reaching 60% HP, Mausoleum Mom's Heart beats faster and replaces the phase 1 patterns with the following: 5 lines of projectiles that rotate and pulsate outwards, 2 combined rings of 8 projectiles that rotate in opposite directions while expanding, 16 wavy streams of projectiles that intertwine and create gaps, 16 streams of projectiles that curve back towards Mom's Heart and intertwine to create gaps, and 5 waving lines of projectiles that rotate and expand outwards

After reaching 30% HP, Mausoleum Mom's Heart beats even faster, and gains the following patterns: 6 curved lines of projectiles that rotate in opposite directions while expanding (3 clockwise, 3 counter-clockwise), a ring of 12 projectiles that expands outwards alongside 2 rings of 4 projectiles that expand outwards and rotate in opposite directions at a higher speed

• Additionally, at 30% HP, Mausoleum Mom's Heart regains the following patterns from the start of the fight: 2 streams of projectiles that spiral outwards and gradually increase in density, 2 rings of 8 projectiles, each ring expanding and alternating between rotating clockwise and counter-clockwise

• At 10% HP, all projectile attacks cease, and Mausoleum Mom's Heart fires 2 Brimstone lasers in opposite directions which slowly rotate at a steady pace

• While firing Brimstone lasers, Mausoleum Mom's Heart also fires 2 continuous streams of projectiles—one following Isaac's movements, and one mirroring

• Upon defeat, Mom's Heart fires out a ring of 14 projectiles and permanently causes the Curse of Darkness and gray-scale effect for the entire floor

• The majority of projectile attacks deal a whole heart of damage; however, these are mixed in with smaller projectiles which only deal a half a heart (Brimstone lasers also only deal half a heart of damage)

• Most projectile attacks are synced with the rhythm of the heart's beating, meaning the speed of projectile attacks increases as the fight continues
