    REPENTANCE

    -Vinh is currently tweaking one challenge that will be "pretty awesome"

    -The gameplay feels more cinematic because of the harmony between visuals and audio

    -We'll get theme and story from the audio

    -They could've been adding more stuff for a couple months, because vinh is a perfectionist and wants to add a million details, and edmund wants to always add more content, but they set themselves a release date so they could stop adding new content

    -Minor additions probably coming in later updates, but all the massive substantial stuff is done

    -They are currently rebalancing late-game antibirth bosses with tons of phases so they have less phases

    -Things that were planned for TBOI2 will be in Repentance

    -Edmund is very confident in the game, says it feels like a sequel

    -The meta will change, lots of stuff is made fresh again

    -There will be lots of throwbacks to flash TBOI

    -TBOI2 will happen one day but not anytime soon

    -Edmund is not sure on what direction to drive the sequel in, does he remix the classic formula? Make something completely new, like TLOZ 2's new perspective? Make an ultra safe expansion-like game? Maybe new art? Maybe 3D models?

    -Repentance will have enough content to keep players busy for a long time

    -Vinh found that a lot of items actually have different behaviors than what's written on the wikis

    -Rusted key did nothing in flash, there was literally no code

    -There are pages and pages of changes that have been implemented

    -Edmund doesn't like seeing streamers breaking the game over and over, he knows it feels fun but it's not what he had envisioned for the game

    -They tried to remove any run-breaking two-item combinations

    -Edmund mentioned a battery bum

    -He wants people to pick up the items they thought were bad and reexperience them

    -Bob's brain got a buff but not in the way anybody wants

    -Same for Curse of the Tower, it has been made more dangerous to enemies without being more dangerous to isaac

    -Repentance feels like a new game

    -Lots of active items have had reduced charges

    -GB bug is a top tier item according to Edmund

    -People contact Edmund all the time with ideas and he never implements any, says people should stop emailing him their ideas because he won't implement them

    -There will never be an expansion for TBOI again.

    -There might be a small update with content, but he doesn't want to make a promise for expansions or booster pack ever again

    -He says game is finished

    -He could see adding new items, achievements, or game modes in an update, but nothing as big as an expansion, he says that theme and story wise the game is done

    -The update from AB+ to Repentance feels kinda like the update from Spelunky 1 to 2

    -"TBOI 2 would probably have the same core mechanics in a different theme and setting, but don't quote me on that" -Edmund McMillen

    -There are currently 700+ items in the game

    -Rooms with spikes one tile away from the entrance are GONE

    -Some rooms have an SMB-esque feel with "rotating sawblade traps"

    -Some rooms are like puzzles and Edmund was very impressed when he saw them

    -Some large rooms have been divided in smaller squares and have you progress through them (not a new mechanic, just an interesting room layout)

    -There will be new mechanics for each alt chapter and the rooms exploit them very well

    -Tons of rooms with a weight of 0.000001 or so, that people will be happy to post on Reddit cause they've never seen them before

    -Friday we'll have a "numbers" blog post

    -There are 7000+ rooms, unclear if it's new rooms or total amount

    -Alt floors will have the classic enemies but themed to fit the aesthetic of the floor

    -There are 17 characters in the game

    -100+ items combo with Bethany's book, and they're still working on it

    -A bunch of items will be "a bazillion items in one", Birthright is an example (Antibirth item that has a different item depending on the character you're playing as)

    -People will go nuts over all the new stuff that's been added

    -There are elements of the game that they haven't shown yet that people will want to replay over and over, because they feel like a mini game mode

    -There will be a new item called "the bag", and people will dissect the back super hard to figure out how it works. They say it might need its own wiki page, and that it'll probably won't be possible to datamine, but will rather require trial and error to understand

    -About half of repentance's dev time was spent on general polish and reworking mechanics

    -The new hard more feels like the flash version of TBOI, in that it's more tense and requires you to learn it

    -Most people will probably have to go back to normal mode to learn things because the game will "destroy you" on hard mode

    FOUR SOULS

    -There will be a card that allows you to attack people directly

    -They will reprint the entire game to make the wording more specific and less ambiguous

    -Edmund thinks an online version of Four Souls wouldn't work, and say it might or might not happen. He's willing to let someone else port it and give his opinion

    MEWGENICS

    -Mewgenics has TBOI potential, as in it could be as vast and versatile as Isaac is

    -It feels like Final Fantasy tactics x Pokémon x DnD x Animal Crossing)

    -It has a hub world where you can fluff your cats

    -It will probably take around 2 years to finish

    OTHER PROJECTS

    -He plans on doing an autobiographical comic, which would be one of the two comic ideas he has

    -He also has an idea for a new board game

    -There was a planned FMV horror "Pokémon Snap-like" game that was cancelled because it would have bothered some people too much, and one of the people on the team had "major cold feet about it", that's why the project died

    -After all the dust settles and he's done with the major projects, he wants to go back to making small projects

    The other night while doing a run, I had Remote Detonator and as we all know, it stops your bombs from exploding until you hit space bar. In one room that I used it to blow up tinted rock, I noticed an explosion at the other side of the room, where I hadn't placed any bombs. What could that have been?And then I figured it out. It was a Bomb Rock that had exploded! I couldn't believe I didn't know this after so many hours of play and it makes Remote Detonator much. MUCH more worth picking up.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe this is even in the wiki.

    DLTR: Remote Detonator blows up Bomb Rocks.

    Edit: Update to this.
    I was just testing it to make sure I wasn't gonna have a lot of people telling me it doesn't work. As it turns out, I must've been playing Antibirth (although I'm sooo sure I wasn't) because it's not working now.

    Can anyone confirm if this works in Antbirth?

    (sorry for the bad clip i play on switch) wondering why people don’t use the broken shovel more for a free reroll with isaac. i was wondering if it worked and i rerolled the shovel handle into 9 inch nails!
