A bit late, but here it is: Here's everything that was announced in HuttsGaming's interview of Edmund!

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 07:39 AM PDT

Before I start, I wanted to say a huge thanks to the devs, watching these interviews and hearing them talk about the game makes it clear they're super invested in the project and they want to make it as good as it could be. We're always talking about the game and it's easy to forget there are people behind it, and sometimes things people say about the game without a second thought can make them feel terrible. If anyone on the team is reading this, I love you all, you're amazing, and I can't wait to play!!

    OKAY SO

    - Edmund and Vinh are losing it, they've been and are going to be working super hard until release

    - The spinning meat enemies have MADE IT in the game, but it's the only enemy Edmund feels kind of meh about, he says it has no face so you can't feel bad about killing it

    - Edmund contacted the devs of Antibirth day one because he thought the mod was so good and so accurate to Edmund's vision

    - Repentance wraps up the lore of the game, there's not much more to be said other than what's been put in the DLC

    - The story in TBOI is not a linear story, it's a pocket of time, a situation, the abstract story of what it is to be an outcast in a broken religious family. It says that organized religion preys on poor desperate people, and a child who doesn't fit in the mold of what can be considered "good" can be heavily affected by religion

    - Repentance makes the story a bit more relatable

    - Repentance takes the story in some dangerous directions, they actually wondered if Nintendo would approve it at some point

    - There are a lot of cool decisions they made that hit hard, and that makes Ed feel good about the game

    - Edmund wants to do a stream someday where we ask him about items and he tells us their origin and why they were added to the game

    - Everything in TBOI is related to him somehow, like 50% of the items are references to songs he likes and all of it is inside jokes that no one can really understand

    - TBOI is very streamable because it's easy to make jokes about it, and watch people fail or win. Being trolled by the game makes everyone laugh and thus is fun

    - Edmund's philosophy is that if you can't go in and learn enough to crush the game, he failed as a teacher and a designer

    - He is against making games more accessible by reducing the difficulty or adding an easy mode so that people who aren't good at games can enjoy it too; he prefers making the game easy enough to not be instantly defeating but not patronize the player

    - Repentance has pretty much everything from antibirth and way more, about twice as much content as Antibirth

    - Alternate floors from Antibirth are in (we already knew that but he confirmed it)

    - Very few items and features from Antibirth didn't make it in, and the things that got cut were mostly repeat items

    - Antibirth bosses got heavily nerfed, they had too many moves to memorize

    - Vinh comments out the code instead of removing it, so you can reenable them easily if you want

    - There was one attack that Vinh loved but Ed wanted to cut

    - Something about a boss' "spinning attack" (Edmund spins his finger very fast)

    - When asked about a "Chaos" or "Ed" mode which would force your runs into chaos (with the example of "the doors lock and the game tells you to take all the unidentified pills in the room"), Ed says: "Oh man, I wish I could tell you things"

    - Curse of the Blind is a good curse

    - Curse of Darkness is the only curse Edmund dislikes, but Vinh fixed it

    - Retro Vision is also fixed, but they don't want to reveal how

    - Ed said "What happens when my family doesn't take their pills? Arrested" with a look to the camera and Vinh gasping, maybe it's a hint, maybe I'm looking too much into it

    - Edmund says Curse of the Tower is very good, only fucks with you if you're bad

    - "We'll see" about what they did to double items in alt floors, they say some people are going to hate it

    - The black poop secret room was actually a mistake: Edmund usually takes existing rooms, copies them and edits them to make new rooms, but he forgot to edit this one and it ended up in the secret room pool

    - We "will be impressed" by the new new large rooms, they're impressive design wise and they work really well

    - There will be moments that reward experienced players who know a lot about the game, andmechanics that reward good resource management

    - There will be new explorations with new mechanics introduced in the alternate paths that are "just really cool"

    - "Bethany has more than two synergies, like you put a two and then a plus, two plus", says Edmund. LeatherIceCream seems to insist a lot on the words "two eyes"

    - Edmund says adding a "+" at the end of names is stupid, because now when he wants to advertise Four Souls +, it sounds like he's saying "Four Souls, plus something else"

    - Maggie's buff is significant, there will be more things in the game that let you use her health as a resource

    - Devil deals have been reworked

    - We should be more worried about Angel deals (Ed said this while Hutts was talking so he didn't hear it and didn't ask him to elaborate)

    - The only intended reason to go do side bosses is to flex on the game

    - Hutts has a mustache on his balls

    - There might be new reasons to go beat the optional bosses, we'll have to go and see

    - The new content is harder, and Hard Mode is harder

    - They made some things easier, they added early game mechanics that counteract the difficulty spike

    - We will have more consistently fun runs and feel good about them, but also more clutch situations

    - People shouldn't do Eden streaks until they've unlocked everything

    - They might support a native Eden streak feature in the future

    - The game balances itself when you're playing multiplayer but they didn't program that, it's just how it feels

    - Blank Card Jera still exists but in a different way

    - When asked if there would be an equivalent to Blank Card and Placebo for runes, Edmund said "When you look at it closely and want to fill the gaps, it sounds logical to want to have an equivalent for runes" but never actually confirmed or denied it

    - If people find game breaks and they only require 2 items, they're gonna nerf or remove it; 3 items they'll talk about it, 4 items it'll be fine

    - Greed mode hasn't been touched much, but they'll get to it eventually

    - Might have taken D20 out of it, they don't remember

    - We should take every item again

    - For the best experience, people should play casually and not streak

    - "More than a handful" of items have completely changed, we'll have to re-learn them

    - The part we don't like about Bob's Brain hasn't changed but it's better, it'll make sense when we find out what it is

    - Vinh has an idea for a transformation that will not be in the initial release, but probably in the future

    - He also always has amazing ideas for "what ifs" that happen only once in a blue moon but look super cool

    - We will "appreciate their balls", it's not a joke, it's an actual hint, "they're scary but substantial"

    - There will be no cum item

    - Anarchist Cookbook got a "substantial" buff, "sort of"

    - Holy Water, Mr. Boom, Kamikaze, Lemon Mishap, Dataminer, Notched Axe have all been reworked

    - The golden chest pool has been changed

    - We might have to make an entire new wiki for Repentance

    - There's one item that hasn't been updated and people will be disappointed

    - The DLC drops on the very first second of the 31st (PST)

    - Vinh felt bad because one of you guys said the number of new enemies was too small, so mind what you say

    - The numbers "don't show what more they're bringing to the table, because they don't want to spoil some aspects of the game"

    - We shouldn't nitpick and whine over numbers

    - Vinh thinks the game is going to live up to the hype

    - Azazel's got "a few more" synergies

    - Nicalis is trying to make the game release on as many consoles as possible (the more the better)

    - Greg the Egg will not be in Repentance, but people who like him should be on the lookout

    - Edmund doesn't think making AR/VR games is worth it because most people don't have the sets, it's not quite there yet

    - He wants to be done with the Isaac IP for a while

    - Edmund thought about making a TBOI themed DND session, he'd need to convert items into spells, make a million tables, rework mechanics, etc. but it sounds like a lot of fun to him

    - They think it would be fun to make a post launch interview

    - We'll get our last mini blog post on Monday

    - And this was the last interview! Thank you all for your support on these posts, I enjoyed making them a lot :)

I’m Catholic and this is my favorite game. I was wondering how many other people that are Christians play this game.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 09:03 AM PDT

It's kinda obvious that the Binding of Isaac is anti religion but the religious elements in the game make me love it more. I think that the items and characters that are Biblical references are really cool and it's cool to see them and be like, "Oh, yeah, I know where that's from." So I was wondering if there was anyone else like me who is Christian and plays this amazing game.
