Character Discussion

What the heck is happening, my absolute dorks and dweebs? My tank has a little more gas in it than the past few days. It's a 1:30 AM post instead of a 3:00 AM banger, which feels like a pretty major accomplishment. The days blend together, I do believe it's a Sunday night once again ("actually it's Monday morning" crew feel free 2 shut up).

And, as the dedicated Discussion fans among you are surely aware, Sundays build character. Character Discussions, that is! We've exhausted the pool of non-controversial characters, and have firmly landed in the Rework-In-Progress-Maybe zone. Luckily, there's still another week of buffer before this series needs to take a brief hiatus. It's Tainted Apollyon time—it's time to descend into the Abyss!

[Tainted Apollyon]

Health: 2 Red Hearts

Damage: 3.5 * 1.0

Tears: 1.82

Shot Speed: 1

Range: 6.5

Speed: 1.0

Luck: 0

Pickups: None

Items: Abyss (Pocket)

Unlock: Use Red Key or Cracked Key on the Home closet as Apollyon

Character Attributes: Tainted Apollyon says hey, you know what's cooler than stat upgrades? Familiars! This little guy trades Void for Abyss, an active item which turns items in the room (including items held during the pickup animation) into locust familiars. Firing tears sics the locusts on enemies, which continue forward until they hit something. Locusts deal Tainted Apollyon's damage per tick, which is pretty gnarly. Certain items give unique locusts, but it's a pretty unfinished feature. I had planned on waiting until Abyss was patched...but, evidently we'll be waiting a while for that. So, in the meantime: Tainted Apollyon!
